I noticed this deal and it looks tempting, but I'm not sure if it's worth the hassle in replacing my current receiver so I need your help.

I have an Onkyo 805 connected to a 6.1 set up: Infinity TS1200 home theater.

I use a PS3 for my bluray/games.

Does it make sense for me to jump from the 805 to this Denon? I keep hearing the 805 is one of the best receivers ever made but I was never thrilled with the actual sound quality.

How much could I sell the 805 for if I decide to go ahead?

Thanks for any advice.

You'll have better results posting in the appropriate subforum.

This is a ridiculous deal. I am struggling to not pull the trigger.

I was pretty interested in this until I just saw that it doesn't support SACD over HDMI, which my current Pioneer will do.

Adam, how do you know if a receiver supports SACD over HDMI, like you said your PIO does?

Hi, Jeff. It should be listed in the specs and owner's manual. On Denon's site the 3313 is listed as supporting it, but the 3312 isn't...but sometimes the listed specs aren't correct, so I searched the 3312 manual for "SACD" and found nothing.

You could always rip them if you have a PS3. I haven't tried it myself but there is supposed to be a way.

Thanks for the idea! After briefly looking into it, though, I get the impression that my PS3 Slim can't play SACDs.

This is my receiver. Absolutely no complaints from me. Solidly built, does the job well.

Awesome deal for sure.

Maybe I should buy another one and get some new speakers for a bathroom or something.

I was wondering when you were going to get around to installing high-end audio in those 12 neglected rooms :p. Perhaps pair the Denon with some Maggie MMG-W on-wall speakers. :D

Ugh, I couldn't resist. Trigger pulled. :D Now I just need to find a deal on some Axiom M60's or M80's for fronts...

Bought one, is this come with factory warranty? If not, how do I purchase warranty for it? This is my first time using amazon.

Since, I missed this deal (damnit!!), should I consider this as a precursor for getting a similar deal in the next three months, now that XX13 receivers will be pushed instead of this one? Any ideas are appreciated.

It's unlikely that this will be back this cheap at Amazon anytime soon but if you're seriously shopping then I'd narrow your search to a couple of models like the 2312, 3312, and 4311 and set alerts at each of the major deal sites. Bensbargains.net and techbargains.com plus 2-3 others. You can also get free software to monitor Amazon for price drops on products you're looking for.
