High Efficient/Sensitive speakers

The De250 in the Geddes OS waveguide + patented foam insert + low diffraction + Geddes crossover, low resonances cabinets won't necessarily sound the same as the de250 in the H290C + Parham crossover + rectangle cabinet.

The AE woofer is also used in the Audiokinesis Planetarium speakers, by the way.

Yeah it will probably sound better since the OS waveguide has C2C issues

Hyperbole aside, the Three Pi is pretty well engineered, isn't it? Wayne seems refreshingly reality based, if preferential to his own babies.

I think they are "superior in every way" only in the context of his specific approach. The SEOS throw a much wider pattern contra to his design goals. A SEOS based speaker may be the bomb, too. Either would probably work well for ADTG. (Plus, we need to convince him to get some horns, which as you noted are conspicuously absent from his collection.)

SEOS is slow but steady... its headed by one man effectively in what amounts to his huge garage.

Dont think the plan has ever been to offer finished speakers, if someone wants to step up to the plate and use SEOS then they should. Otherwise Erich only has the capability to have CnCed flat packs made by a local CnC company. Then youre on your own actually assembling the crossover.

Its only modified in the sense that they changed the L-pad, which only changes the output over the compression driver. thats it.

Hmm, i thought they added one resistor (the l-pad). Im guessing the others are to deal with the breakup node past the 1500hz crossover

Well by measurements do you mean polar measurements? thats all that really matters when it comes to high efficiency speakers. They need to be flat off axis because theyre supposed to be toed in heavily.

To answer your question: Nope.

Making a speaker with constant directivity is hard, i know for sure that the seaton and JTR would have some poor polars because coaxial drivers simply arent designed for it, same with the SHO-10 because the waveguide is probably pretty poor, not sure about the ed-c12, it depends on where eD crossed it over.

You can get a well designed JBL speaker with proper power response for $650ish here

But AJ says that technically speaking, my KEF 201/2 is a "horn", just a different kind of horn and not very efficient.

What if the HE speaker has a high efficiency horn ribbon tweeter? Would that be "different" ?

Those new jbl studio looks like an interesting alternative to klipsch.

The center channel seems kind of dinky though with 4" woofers which probably would make me pass on these. Still would like to see some reviews for these.

As long as it can handle human voices correctly I'm not too concerned with the woofer size.

But yes, there are no reviews on these at all, I can't even find any comments from owners. From my understanding they haven't been available stateside for that long. They were orginally a EU/Asia only product.
