Had a small thread before of progress on one of the cafe bikes I built. Not terribly interesting honestly. So let's go again, but for everyone.
Anyone into motorcycles....Cafes, Bobbers, Choppers, Brats, Trackers, Cruisers, Rockets, Fighters or just plain ol' Commuters.....hell, even scooters, post your bikes, post your builds, pictures of your busted knuckles, whatever.....this is the place to show your two-wheeled love!

1971 Honda CB175SS - GP class, full build, everything that could be done, has been done. 33hp and 210lbs. Ain't gonna floor you, but you might be surprised.

1968 Honda CL450 - Clean and simple, if it doesn't make it go, it goes. Punched out and bumped up with Henning Racing internals. Ever seen a 450cc embarrass a 110ci? It's hilarious. (still adding parts too)

1972 Yamaha DT250 - Flattrack terror built for the street. 360cc 2-stroke thumper. The DT's started out as big ugly dual sports. Lay it out, stretch it out. Motorswap and a whole boatload of handbuilt parts.

got a couple more rollers, but not in shape to photo yet....it's a loooong process. 1973 CB450 restoration and a 1968 CL450 stretched out, classic rigid bobber on the way.

Just finished my 1968 CL450 Scrambler restoration after a long year of building....
To celebrate, I took a blast down some gravel roads and down some old railroad tracks

Those are some fine bikes, the CB175 was the first real street bike I ever rode, wasn't setup in cafe mode mind you. Wish I had pictures of the few older bikes I owned but I only have some of the current ones.

thanks.

everything except the tank & fenders was powder coated.

it had performance machine brakes and a fork brace and the thunder header exhaust you see, custom seat, steel braid brake & oil lines, too, and some other performance stuff.
I changed every nut & bolt to stainless allen head.

all this was powder coated

.

.

I also built a rigid 77 Sportster ,I'll have to find those pics.

I like your cafes though.

I built a rigid once. Looked so clean and beautiful, sucked total *** to ride though. Definitely not for me!

Love the older Yami R's....felt waaay more balanced than the new ones

Was always a Honda guy, 1st street bike at 18 was the CBR900RR, then the CBR929RR, CBR954RR.....

.......Was very tempted to pick up an R1 in 2002 though, they just felt great.

They really nailed the carb/throttle setup on those early year R1s though their FI isn't bad either but I haven't tried the latest ones. Both are very well designed bikes for what they are meant for. I won a fair number of races on the R1 against much newer bikes so she served me well for those two years.

Nothing of value to add to the thread itself, but the subject line sounds like it would make a great title for a country song... :D
