Anyway ... here's a pic of a clock ... wait, we got a thread for that.

So new wood on old clock or new internals in old box? Or just a refinish?

It looks good. You should start a restoration business...buy old stuff, refinish it and then sell it at flee markets. Think of all the interesting people you could meet with names like Adam, Rick, Dave...:)

This thread has been an emotional roller coaster. I misread 'clock' and got excited. Then I got disappointed. Now, I just want pudding.

Instead of a wood finish restoration business, you could offer owners of silver speaker cables a cable lifting service ;). It might require opening several ebay accounts under different names.

Last week a neighbor told me her copper rain downspouts had been stolen, and that replacing them was expensive. After my initial surprise "you have copper rain gutters ", she asked if I would keep my outdoor lights on all night to prevent the downspout lifting service guys from paying another visit. No problem I told her. I had recently put in some CFL lights, and I don't sweat using a 15 watt bulb all night.

So, a silver speaker cable lifting service might be lucrative. If not, you can always recycle copper rain downspouts.

Ahhh yes ... the ones that practically installed themselves. :D

New wood on old clock.

No more finishes for me. Like the sound panels and speaker wall mounts, all they get is
natural stain which simply seals the wood. Finishes are nobody's friend. I did a picture
frame the same way. It hides my electrical panel. I made mistakes at every turn except
when it came to the finish.

Regarding restoration, I'd starve in that business but besides that I'm not that good at
this stuff. The reason this stuff comes out half way decent is that I do appreciate quality
but speed and skill wise I'm middle of the road at best and beyond that a shop and a
paint booth are must haves.

You mean that the dining room table is off limits?

Not at all. My sister spilled nail polish remover on it and I labeled one of the chairs with crazy glue doing that stupid speaker mod Chris came up with for the 360's. Cheryl wants all that refinished. I don't think she knows that I was finished with them the minute they were damaged.

I thought time was irrelevant in Mantown.
Oh sure, that was until Cheryl mentioned Laundry Time, Vacuum Time.
....I'll ask, because I know you're as confused as I am.....why do they call it Mantown?

Everything looks great!
I can speak as someone that has been in mantown, Alex really did an excellent job in there.
Any complaints about the coat of arms on the clock?? :D Or has that person be recently put out to pasture.

Actually Cheryl doesn't like it much and to be honest I should have let Eddie paint that. He's really good at that stuff
and this was a poor choice of places to display my first attempt. The hilt of the sword is a little crooked on top of all
the other mistakes.

I never did find out who took offense but the complaint about my original avatar had to do with the 'U' above the
coat of arms. Aesthetically I like the sword better and the white field being top center is from the 1500's. I had to
alter the original image to display 25 fields.

I removed that original avatar from a variety of forums I was on.
I don't want to be inadvertently offensive.
