Outdoor kitchen audio help

Hi all,

I frequent this regularly but never post so today is the day. I have had an ongoing project (labor of love, or obsession if you ask my wife) for two years now. I built an outdoor kitchen complete with built in grill, fireplace and my fave . . . a wood fired pizza oven. I have four in ceiling speakers but now need to power them. Originally I planned to utilize an unused Onkyo receiver to power but it became a pain to haul back and forth from the house. I am looking for a small amp to power the speakers, which are 8 ohm. Nothing fancy, just need power. Will not be driving the speakers to high levels, just want so music while we sit around. Any thoughts and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Shop around for a Sherwood RX4105, stereo receiver selling for around $100...

So to clarify....you will mount the receiver outside in the outdoor kitchen....if so. Just search your local Craigslist for a used receiver. OR check out a refurbished receiver from Accessories4less: High End Audio at Low End Prices!.

Hi guys, thanks for the response. I didn't make myself clear in original post sorry about that. I have a receiver that I was using but I was looking for something small and easy to transport. I live in South Texas so leaving outside is not a good option due to high humidity. I was hoping to find a small amp that I could easily transport, after all I am getting old

Here is an amp/reciever that is designed for outdoor use, so you wouldn't have to carry it back and forth. It may be worth checking out. I know nothing about it, but you may want to investigate.

How about a virtual invite? Show us some pics of your outdoor kitchen when you have the music system set up. Sounds like it must be very cool.

Virtual invite - done. I should have everything up and running by Memorial weekend. Last weekend did 12 pizzas for Mother's day, oven was running at about 700F-750F. Cook time per pizza was 3 - 4 minutes tops. Margarita pizza (basil and cherry tomatoes out of the garden) was a big hit. Prosciutto with over easy egg on top was also a hit, although I had to coerce people to trying. As in music tastes vary.
