Got tickets to an early screening. It was fun. I enjoyed it, but I wouldn't call it Burton's strongest work. It is definitely done in Burton style, but was a little more laid back compared to most of his stuff. Looked awesome in 4K!

Just looks like another Addam's Family.
Not too far off the mark, and the poster is probably a bad design, because that is exactly what I thought too. I like the vast majority of Burton's work and the tickets were free. This isn't one I'd go see opening night is all.

It does have my girl Chloe Grace in it though. I'm sure I'll rent it eventually.

Going to see Dark Shadows at the IMAX tonight ... g/f's idea.

I wish I was as hot for JD as she seems to be.

Well, she won't be disappointed then, but he doesn't exactly look human in this movie :)

We saw it last night and pretty much liked it. I don't think it will bring new fame to either Tim Burton or Johnny Depp, but it was OK. The story line started out somewhat similar to the old afternoon soaper, and fortunately the plot moved somewhat faster, but it ended up being comparatively over-the-top. There is a cameo by Christopher Lee and an appearance by Alice Cooper (who looks as old as Barnabas is). According to IMDB, Jonathan Frid (the original Barnabas) is there somewhere, but I missed him.

If anybody gets inspired by this to check into the old series, there were 1250 half hour episodes (!) and a couple hundred (! again) are available to stream on Netflix.
