OK.

Need some recommendations yet again. I know second post concerning this but...

Room size about 3000cubic feet, 19 x 19 x 9 (living space), open to the kitchen space (another 3000cubic feet)

50/50 music/movies

Music, Hip hop, classic rock, electronic, 80's

Budget,...... as low as I can go without breaking the bank - really dont want to go over $1500 for the 5.1 setup

sub options:
Cadence CSX-12 Mark II
emotiva x ref-10
Hsu VTF-2 MK4
rythmik fv 12
outlaw lfm-1

Front/Center Options:
Aperion Audio 4t & 4c
BIC PL89 & PL 28
emp tek e55ti & e5ci
Heard KEF is good, but....
Miss any?

I havent picked the rears yet, but will probably go with something in the same set.

I like to listen to my music very loud.

Sitting ditance from TV for Movies will be about 12-14 feet

I like the clean crisp sound of my music with the KLipsch rf 62's, although I could see how it could tire my ears out after a while. The polk tsi500 seemed a little more of a dull sound, easier on the ears, but still nice. The energy cf50 at bb sounded good, I liked better than some of the ML they had running. The Monitor rx8 at magnolia sounded clean too, although they barely crank the volume enough to get me happy.

ANY ADVICE WOULD HELP. I just got my tax check and its burning a hole in my pocket. BTW, I will be running it with an Onkyo 709

You might want to add the Epik Legend to your sub list.

You're got 6000cuft to pressurize so I'd boost the budget to allow for a larger subwoofer or settle for just a stereo pair for now. You can always go back and add the center and surrounds alter. For sure I'd scratch the Emotive sub from the list. The Emo is a nice sub for a really small room.

For a room that size I'd forget the Aperion 4T because they're a skinny decorator speaker intended for smallish rooms. I'd probably look hard at Ascend Acoustics CMT-350SE. I owned a set for a while and liked them but full disclosure I never played them at ear splitting levels. The other option is to wait for the next time that the Infinity P363 go back on sale but that's very hit or miss.

Breaking News!!! Ascends web server crashes under the sudden onslaught of millions of viewers flooding their web sight to see the newly announced "upgrade" of the legendary CMT-340 SE to the all new CMT-350 SE. When asked, all Ascend could say was..."Damn you Sholling!":D

are you counting the 6000 because of the open layout?

I was hoping I would not have to truly consider the extra space when buying speakers....

It's the distance between the speakers and listeners that count for the speakers but for a subwoofer(s) it's the total volume of the room and any spaces open to the room.

I dont really care if the speakers carry themselves into the kitchen area, I just want the best sound in the initial 3000, family room

That make sense for the left and right fronts but doesn't change the subwoofer problem. I would contact SVS, Hsu and Rythmik and maybe Elemental Designs and give them a diagram and the 6000cuft number and see what they suggest. Once you have some expert suggestions let's see what's left to work with. Don't panic this is still doable but let's see what that part is going to cost before throwing more suggestions at you.
