Are these any good? Any thoughts on these?
AT 249 each that seems like a good deal for a second set of speakers to play around with..

I think the higher end more expensive ML are good.

Don't know about lower end models. For cheaper speakers, I would stick to Infinity.

Infinity...Let me check them out. How do the Boston Acoustics compare to the Infinity since we are talking cheap.

When they go on sale like every other month or so, I think the infinity are extremely hard to beat for $85 each on the P162 or $199 each on P362.

The P362 has been measured by Stereophile. Believe this. The P362 have better on-axis and off-axis frequency response than the $25,000 B&W 800 Diamond and many many speakers. No one is claiming they sound better, of course. :D

No other "cheap" speakers on the planet has this honorable distinction. :D

I'm disappointed B&W doesn't care to do anything about that fact. But then again, they couldn't care less what I think. :D

The P362 also measures better than the Martin Logan $3000 speakers.

The P162 has been measured by Soundstage NRC.

I don't know how Boston Acoustics measure.

NHT, EMP, Pioneer also measure very well on frequency response.

Thanks.
Is it worth going to the 363 over the 252 Infinity's?

How can they sell them so cheap? I mean 124 per speaker when everyone else has them for 329 or so?????? I can't understand it.....So I bought a pair.
What do I have to lose at that price...

Don't think so. Not the first time Fry's have those for sale. I think I've even heard people say $100 each + shipping. Sale.

Well... If they sound better than my Polk LSi15. Then it's a big WIN. If they don't then my garage system will thank me.... Or maybe I can take my RF82 Klipsch out of the HT system. Not sure.. But it will be fun trying these out..Just can't believe that I got floor speakers under 275 shipped

That's a price so tempting I'm considering getting a pair even though I have no clue what I'd do with them :) Also, I'm not saying these are refurb, but it wouldn't be the first time fry's has sold untagged referb items...

I figured I'd chime in on the OP since nobody really answered the question. I auditioned the Motion 12s. IMHO, they sound OK at best, and the center that pairs with them is terrible. To me it sounds like a voice in a box. You end up listening to speakers, not movies.

Here is what I ended up finding so far, based on my listening preferences, with HT material.

Motion 12 VS Martin Logan ESL Chose the ESL

ESL vs B&W 683, chose 683. (Will note ESL sounded better on axis, but out of the sweet spot was terrible)

683 VS Klipsch RF 82-II, chose RF 82

Beyond this things got out of my price range. I have three ID speakers coming to me, I'll audition them side by side to the RF 82-IIs.

Also please note, I couldn't find the Motion 12s on Martin Logan's own website.

Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you there.

Hi, run. Was it the Motion 8 that you heard, or maybe the Motion C? I have the Motion 8 and think that it's pretty decent (I wrote a review here). Of course, that doesn't mean that it is...just maybe that I luckily can't tell it's bad. :)

No, it was the Motion 12. The towers were OK, but the whole package really lacked, especially the center speaker. To me with HT content they weren't "convincing". I haven't heard the Motion 8s and can't comment on them.

Thanks. I was wondering which center speaker you didn't like. They have three centers in the Motion line (Motion C, Motion 8, and Motion 6).
