Nice. I'm seriously considering a new TV. The ol 52" just isn't blowing my skirt up anymore. So you like this TV? How about the issue that Plasma's have with dimming over the years?

If Amazon will price match I might have to jump on this one.

At that price, I did buy a second one (Panasonic 65" TC-P65VT30 ). That's half of what I paid for the first. Now my wife has her's to entertain our three daughter-in-laws and I have mine when our three sons come over.

Congrats on your 2nd panny vt65. Have you had any issues with it. I read over on the AVS forum owners thread a few problems. I am thinking about a new TV. But I'm still in love with my old Pioneer Elite. A lot of people are saying that the vt65 is the plasma to buy.

I've never purchase anything that has distinguished itself so far apart from its competitors. I don't know what a $10k TV looks like, but I do know what TVs in the $4k range look like and the Panasonic blew everything else away. Almost a year later and I'm still awe struck watching this tv. I find myself often focusing and enjoying the details of the image rather than following the movie. You really know how special this TV is when friends and family repeatedly compare your tv to their own. I've never invested this much in television before and I'm not one to upgrade every other year. I buy a tv and usually own it until it dies. VT65 the one tv, without a doubt, I will enjoy for many years to come and that's why I own two of them. Not one single issue with either of them. I owned a 63 inch Samsung and had issues right out of the box but once fixed, it was a solid performer. Just too many pixels when watching fast action sports. I sold that to my son after 2 years, he loved the size and the price was right!

Why get TC-P65VT30 for 2400 then you could get TC-P65ST30 for $1600 and have almost the same quality (same panel) minus thx cert and advanced calibration??

I agree with you if you're satisfied with "almost" buy the TC-P65ST30.

I purchased the TC-P65VT30 when it first came out for $4k. Why? Because I wasn't satisfied with "almost" and........ because I could!

My 55ST30 is so vastly better than my old LG 42PC3D than I hardly can imagine anything could possible be even better
ST30 shares exactly same panel as VT30 (2012's VT50 does indeed has brand new panel, unique to VT) as has same 600Mhz drive.... What is missing is THX cert and advanced calibrations, but in my opinion - i'd rather pay $1000 for my TV every 6-7 years and cry too much then technology makes it obsolete after that.

For deciding on TV current price I used mostly decide.com

After years of replacing computers, cars and other toys, I've come to the realization that whatever I'm buying now is already obsolete and it's replacement is only months away from being stocked at my local store.
