LFE frequency response

So, I'm noting that a lot of receivers have a 20-20,000 hz response. Does this just refer to the output to the speakers, or to the LFE output as well? Will the LFE deliver subsonic signals to the sub?

Actually, that thread is what sparked my question. If you noticed, I have posted in said thread. So, that answers the questions about my receive's and subwoofer's amplifiers, but not about its LFE circuitry. For example my Marantz CC-65SE CD player has a frequency response of 2 - 20,000 hz. I would like to assume that my LFE circuitry is capable of sending those 2hz signals out to the sub.

A CD player doesn't have a LFE channel.

LFE is the discrete ".1" channel in a 5.1 system. A CD player is 2.0

Yes, but the receiver will take that 2.0 ch, and send the lower frequencies out to the sub through the sub out (LFE) at a set crossover point, giving you a 2.1 system. At least a nice one will. Maybe you arn't familiar with decent equipement, or just don't have experiance with stereo equipment.

Ah, the ignorance and arrogance of youth!

It's still working from a 2.0 source. While a summed bass signal may go out a jack marked LFE, it isn't an LFE signal. A cat can have kittens in an oven but that doesn't make them muffins.

Really? Thanks for the heads up, kid.

Seriously, I think I'm pretty familiar with "decent" equipment. From your post here it's quite obvious that you've got quite a bit to learn yourself, and not even a clue on how far you've yet to go.

Have a good life, kid.

P.S. While I don't usually comment on these things, I'll make an exception, just for you. You might want to brush up on your spelling a bit before going off on another tirade. See bolded
