Sometimes I think we all get a little caught up in "living in the moment" a bit too much. We do things and say things that may be a bit overly critical and for the most part take for granted so many things that we should be grateful for. I'm as guilty of this as the next person, but whenever I become self aware of my predicament watching this youtube clip always helps me laugh and get a little more grounded. There is a little profanity in it, but it's mostly beeped out since this was on a cable TV show.

I've seen that before, and yes, it's amazing how impatient I can be.:D Lately I've been working on that... Doesn't always go well.:) Stupid we all can be but that is what corporate America is doing to us. Nothing is ever enough or fast enough. Heck, I'm 43 and I can remember fast food restaurants without drive through windows...

The last time I engaged in amazing flight this Turkish toddler took an amazing dump and reeked up the entire cabin. I don't know what they were feeding that kid.

When I go through BK drive throughs it's always late and I order the big specialty burger thing that they always have to cook up and they usually apologize about 7 times for making me wait like 5 minutes. Obviously the people working there are young. They don't seem to understand that part of the reason I order that is because it's fresh and I'm willing to wait for that.

However today I went to buy a shirt because I had a coupon for 30% off. As I stood in line I overheard the cashier signing up the woman in front of me for a store rewards card. She was giving him her name and email address while I stood there. I put the shirt down and walked out. Don't make me wait to give you money while you fill your mailing list. I know my voice is unheard but that doesn't mean it's quiet ... and I still have $27.

Wait, you mean drive through windows weren't always just............there? ;)

It's amazing to me how each successive generation generation expects more, for less, and has no concept of how everything got to be this way. To them, it just is, but it isn't enough.

Then there are some of us, "My brand is better than your brand." "No that is just dumb, why would you even suggest that." (although not nearly as much as other forums)

Heck, I'm thrilled that my gigabytes of music (whatever those are :p) can fly through the air to the strange black box over there, and then that somehow takes that invisible music and blares it through these other boxes sitting around this room. Not a musician or instrument in sight :confused:

Also, not for nothing, I couldn't be happier that the .0000000000000000000000000000000001% chance I'd exist through the 10 trillion tiny processes that had to be just so for me to exist, put me in a situation where I can talk all day long to other people about (in the grand scheme of things) pointless stuff for no other reason than we think this stuff is cool.

I'm starting to get a little out there  guess that means it's time for bed

Better than some teens that work there who could give a crap whether you wait or not :)

Also, they care more about that person because with that rewards card, they have just gained another cash cow likely to spend 2 or 3 or 4 times as much as you at that store over the course of their shopping career there. Rewards cards are bogus, meant to reel you in to spending more while tracking what you buy to tailor sales to you so that you spend more :D

Cool clip - I can remember dialing zeros on a rotary phone (but at the time thought it was fun)!

Any of you remember back in 2008 when I bought two rotary phones off of eBay because I wanted ones like I had as a kid? I used one for a while, but then I shut off my home service when I got my cell phone. Besides, most system won't recognize the code for a "#" or "*" key that don't exist on those phone. Hmmm. I might put it back up on the wall now that I'm thinking about it. Now, I can call from my car using the built-in hands-free system - and, yes, I do still think that it's kind of magical. :D

I don't think that I've ever not checked out of a store because it was going slow. I've already invested the time to go there and pick out my stuff, so I live with the extra five minutes of standing there. There are times when I get very frustrated, but it's with myself because I picked the "wrong" line - you know what I'm talking about. I pick the one that ends up taking a lot longer than the other ones that I could have gotten into.

I didn't not check out because it was going slow. I didn't checked out because it pisses me off that they ask for email addresses, phone numbers and zip codes which has nothing to do with the task at hand ... and do you want to donate a dollar to the Jimmy Fund? FO.

Thanks for reminding me that I saved 5 minutes ... YEAH !!! :p

You might enjoy this. :D I thought it was hilarious (I didn't see a version with the actual video on YouTube, but it's available for streaming on Netflix).

Still have an old rotary phone, lots of fun to use but a real pain when I forget about the whole # * thing and have to hang up to call on a different phone
