Not knowing his motivation or what evidence he has in support of his conclusion, until the FACTS are known, I'll reserve comment and judgment on this as well.
OK Jack...under what circumstances do you think posting a public accusation is proper thing to do before contacting authorities or, in this case, Gene?

Also, I am willing to bet that the full FACTS will never be know by us forum members.

I don't know what to say. If I answer you, I am guilty in indulging in idle speculation which I thought I had made clear is, to me, not helpful to either Gene or Ian. If I don't answer you, I appear guilty of hiding. Your question is kinda like asking the question "When did you stop beating your wife" in that I'm damned if I do, and damned if I don't. Well done!!!!

Ian's post is also damaging.

The post should not have been made unless Ian had all the facts. Isn't that what you have proposed to us here?

PLEASE, hang back, exercise restraint, and reserve comment and judgment until the FACTS are KNOWN. No good is served by idle speculation.

Disturbing if true, sure, but I'd be a lot more freaked out if they traced Alex's posts to my IP address. "The posts are coming from inside the house."

That would help explain those noises in the attic, though.

Ands how do you know he doesn't have enough facts to justify, in his mind, his actions? I do not know either way and will not speculate as to whether he does or doesn't. Wow, it is really tough to remain neutral around here. :)

Well, then that becomes a matter of his own opinion, right?

If that is the case, then we as individuals, also have the same right to post an opinion if we think we have enough information to do so. Right?

Not saying that we do have enough info, because I don't think we do.

all he has as evidence is the same IP?

somebody should teach him about spoofing or dynamic IP.

either that, or he's just milking publicity.

This is what I'm thinking as well. You would think a guy that runs an online business is going to be a bit more savvy about trolling other forums than to do it behind his own IP address.

This is starting to sound like something that could potentially morph into something that ends up sandwiched between "Pawn Stars" and "The Housewives of Orange County".

LOL, and the plot thickens...

AVS Forum - View Single Post - Official Axiom Owner's Thread

Axiom just got busted at Blu-Ray.com for having an employee shilling product without revealing his identity. Intentional or not, it was a clear violation of the rules and not a smart thing to do.

It was JCB one of Axioms "audio experts", his picture is on Axioms website, but he claims he doesn't work for Axiom. Axiom is one of JCB's customers

Went by the name jc and jumped in on speaker discussions to push Axiom speakers.

Someone asked about Paradigm or Klipsch and he chimed in acting like a normal Axiom owner and linked the Axiom website and said how great Axioms are and you should check them out.

Only when a few people started to complain did he out himself and added his signiture that he is an Axiom nonemployee employee.

Like someone said on AVS you can only push pseudo science so long before being called on it.

Axiom fanboys are already demonizing Gene and calling him and idiot, which is totally unfair and uncalled for, they'll follow whatever Ian tells them to do.

Guys you gotta remember they (Axiom) was hacked(causing them to stut down temporarily) the other day in a visa fraud scam reported by someone on CAM (canauk audio mart) and now this? It was mentioned that Ian held counsel today and why this news was made public....I am sure Gene right now is scrambling trying to find out WTH happened here....because this makes little sense right now?

Wow this is certainly turning out to NOT be a “Good Friday”. It’s unfortunate that Axiom posted this without consulting with me first to examine the facts but I can understand their frustration. The reality of this situation is I hired a close friend of the family about 4 years ago who is now a struggling freshman college student in need of cash. I needed assistance at our corporate office to publish editorial content (none of which was written by him as he is NOT a writer) and also help me move heavy audio gear given the recent back issues I’ve been having. Over the years I’ve been mentoring him on the A/V business and having private conversations about the industry in general. What I didn’t realize was the extent in which he was posting on the forums and under the name “JBALL’ without revealing he unofficially does work for Audioholics. I guess I should have suspected why he was billing me 3+ hours to post a 4-5 page editorial that I could do in ½ the time.

I do however take issue with the following statement made by Ian:

This resulted in Gene threatening me by saying that he had built the Axiom brand and he could destroy it”.

I can only suspect Ian wrote this out of anger when he discovered JBALL was doing work for our organization. I have always wished Axiom well in their business and I simply don’t use that kind of language nor do I recall ever saying such a thing. We have always given Axiom a fair shake in our reviews and editorials including allowing them the opportunity to peer review all content we publish on their products.

Although we have had disagreements on some aspects of loudspeaker design and theory, we’ve always managed to find common ground with each other. I have always considered Ian/Amie as friends, not just business partners.

In any event, I apologize for this incident and deserve the public flaming in the forums as a result. I take full responsibility for JBALL’s actions and feel quite embarrassed and regretful about these chain of events. Certainly mistakes were made on both sides but our goal is to move forward and rebuild the strong relationship we once forged.

I had a great conversation with Ian/Amie about this and assured them he would NEVER be posting on a public A/V forum again. I asked Axiom to suspend JBALL account and remove all negative posts towards Axiom. Thank you for listening.

Things still don't add up. Gene's statements and Ian's do not reconcile. That said, I have absolutely no idea what's up. Guess I'm still sticking to bizzare...

I have to say I am more than a little dissapointed that mods here would jump on the bashing band wagon at all.

GTPdude. I'm not at all surprised to see you still trolling.
