Back when DenPureSound almost ordered the Phil3, I told him that he'd better order quick because as soon as Dennis gets that 100th order, that $2,800 price will double.
Funny thing was, Dennis increased the price to $3K the next day.
Barely an increase at all, but still.
Of course, this was purely due to the increased cost of the packing materials, insulation, etc.
But it raises a good point. Dennis is hardly making any profits on these speakers at all. So if any material costs increase, he will have to increase the price to avoid a loss on his end since the margin is so small.
Bottom line, Dennis is crazy for keeping the prices so low. If I were Donald Trump, I would order a million pairs of each, market them, send to HTM, Stereophile, and sell them for 3 times the price.
