They are the ones who won the last Superbowl.:D
They still couldn't contain back the indomitable force (for turnovers?) that is Wrecks Grossman!

And it seems their corrupt owner is trying to create a "dynasty" by hook and crook, by stealing cap room from division rivals who broke no rules.

His father must be spinning in his grave!

Who is this directed to? I hope your not talking about the Giants.

Of course I am talking about the jints.

Dan Graziano said:
Effectively, the league found a way to excuse itself for engaging in an illegal act and got the players to sign off on it. The only people who are suffering are the teams that decided, two years ago, not to go along with the illegal plan by which the league was ordering its teams to abide. The whole thing reeks of witch-hunt impropriety *** [such as] the troublesome fact that the chairman of the aforementioned NFL Management Council is the owner of the Giants, who play in the same division as the two teams being docked.

But they somehow managed to win the biggest, most important game of the year.
The rest sounds like sour grapes to me. IMO all the owners are corrupt.

How is that remotely inconsistent with anything that I wrote?

"And it seems their corrupt owner is trying to create a "dynasty" by hook and crook, by stealing cap room from division rivals who broke no rules."

Combined with, earlier,

"And in my mind the Jints' owner (who chairs the committee that meted out the punishment) looks like he's trying to give the reigning champions a huge competitive advantage in the Beast. Can anyone say "conflict of interest?" (Surely, nobody can say "restore the competitive balance" with a straight face!)"

Am I and Mr. Graziano incorrect that the committee which docked two of the jints' NFC East rivals of a combined $46m in cap space for their spending habits in an uncapped year over 2012 and 2013 is chaired by jint's owner John Mara?

If they were as bad as you make them out to be, then no amount of turnovers would make any difference.

More sour grapes huh?

So the committee is just John Mara. No one else had a say in the matter?

I never said they were bad, now did I?

I merely note, accurately, they were unable to contain one of the most turnover-prone QB's in the league, behind a patchwork line. Unlike, unfortunately, the front groups of the 'pokes and 'iggles, who both thrashed poor Wrecks pretty hard.

Anyone who's ever served on a committee of ostensible peers and equals know that a chairperson exert outsized influence. And besides, every other owner who voted with Mara got something out of it, too (extra cap space for two years).

Said, implied. Same thing to the real world.
Seems to me that they did very well for themselves. The job was done.

Gregg Williams has gone the way of Pete Rose and Sean Peyton suspended for a year. G.M and linebackers coach also suspended for several games.

What a freaking offseason this has been. Any one of these stories (Peyton, Tebow, bountygate) would have made it interesting. All three is making it absolutely epic.

The Jets, man. Christ. The Jets are imploding. And Miami too.

And the Saints season is over before it even begins.

Tebow to the Jets might not happen. There is a hiccup....might get voided.

The Saints also lost their 2nd round pick in 2012 and 2013. Also fined $500,000.
