Defensive line is an area where spending money is wise. Same with the quarterback position. It's a pass driven league today. The only way to stop the great quarterbacks is pressure, pressure, pressure from the front 4. It's no coincidence the best quarterbacks are always in the playoffs. Pass rush is what you need to compete for titles.

Just like a great quarterback, a great pass-rush can make up for other deficiencies one has on a team. I can't really say that for many other positions.
It can, but Buffalo has an awful lot of holes for one position to fill. At least they are making smart moves.

Buffalo doesn't have as many holes as you think. LB is huge need which they can fill in the draft. This is one of the reasons they made a big push for Super Mario as they feel this can put them over the top to be a playoff team.

So is Orton going to be Romo's successor in Dallas this year? :D

It's funny how Dallas keeps making bonehead moves. Let's cut Newman and sign Orton. That makes so much sense.

I long for the day when Jerry loosens his grip. That said my college is actually good at football and basketball again so I hardly notice the train wreck that is Hidden Valley Ranch. I really hope the Bills get back to the Playoffs. They still have my favorite Logo. I remember Bruce Smith, Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas.

The problem starts with Jerry Jones. He needs to relinquish control as GM. They need to get a real football guy that knows today's game to start calling the shots. Too much of his meddling in actual football operations I think is their problem.

I'm sorry they cut Newman. He's been awful, so I enjoyed seeing him with a star on his helmet. And the Orton signing was also too smart. It took away the best option to back up RG3 (or Luck, if it goes that way) in Washington. Orton's a much better backup than Sexy Rexy.

I want him to stay GM as long as he lives. And even beyond, if possible.

Bolts just signed Eddie Royal??? Now I'm not feeling so bad about VJ leaving.

AJ's going nuts! Must be worried about keeping his job. Now go get Kamerion Wimbley and I'll be really happy. :D

Bolts still suck.
Isn't that hack Norv Turner still their coach?

He was the luckiest guy in sports for a while, because the turmoil during the great Jack Kent Cooke's illness and subsequent death kept him in a job for which he was simply unqualified.

He really should've been fired in 1996, when they started 7-1 and didn't win a game thereafter.

The Chargers games I seen over the last few years have shown a lot of the "highlights" I remember from Turner's 1990s Redskins teams, in terms of the team's mental toughness and ability to put away the teams relative talent levels indicate they "should" beat. Also, just plain lousy special teams play.

He's good at beating the colts though. It's funny how many times the Chargers have ruined Manning's season and now they might get two cracks at him.
