So what is going to happen to you in a few years as you pack on a few pounds and your looks fade? Audio wise there are small form factor speakers like Anthony Gallo which I've never heard but have heard good things about. If the wife is super inflexible you might just be better off with headphones so that you don't have to hear her and so that you don't have to hear her.
