Rumor: Netflix streaming 3D content via PS3

As I was making my way around the online gaming community I stumbled upon an article that caught my attention. Take a look but if confirmed it would prove to be an interesting development to watch.

They might as well stream 4K for as many people as will care and actually use it. 3D is "thick" to stream and most of the content is so bad it's hardly worth getting excited about in my opinion.

Nice scoop, though.

There was an article on Gizmodo the other day saying that the large percentage of people interested in buying TVs weren't interested in 3D.

Everyone Wants a Dumb TV After All

I noticed they've been messing with Netflix on the PS3 lately because I've had more issues with the Netflix app on there recently.

I am actually pretty impressed with 3D via the PS3, but wearing the glasses gets old, even for the fairly light and unobtrusive ones I bought. Even though they are designed to clear a user's own glasses, my friends who came over for movie night Tron Legacy 3D both wear glasses and they kept adjusting them.

So true and how many people in this country would even have the bandwidth to handle it, they should focus on getting more content that has 5.1. I have the flix set at the highest rez possible and it still has it's moments when it looks bad so Lord knows how this would look if ever implemented.

They have been doing something not sure if its Netflix or Sony because even the PSN store has had it moments along with several of my other apps.

I am sure some of that is the integration of the Vita as well, but I haven't had issues with Netflix most of last year, and then just in the last few weeks I've had a number of freezes or it just shows the stream loading and never does anything. At least when it does that, I quit and relaunch it and it is generally OK.
