Which amp would be better?

I really dont think you could go wrong with either, but Id honestly have to give the reliabilty edge to Crown. I see a lot of reconditioned B stock Behringer stuff for sale on the pro sites and ebay.

I agree... I would go with the Crown amps. Wow lot of WPC. I have saved a ton of $$ by owning older Klipsch Heritage speakers that do NOT need mega amps and now being retired I can't afford. My older brother had smaller rated Crowns and never had a problem with them. What speakers do you have that need this much power???

I'd go with the Peavey IPR and a mini dsp. Combine price is a little more than the inuke, but you get better reliability.

Loving my Crown so far, but I really have only been running it for like 2 weeks. But I am pushing it hard though.

I will be pushing my 2 kappa perfect builds and thanks for all the replies! :) I happen to have 2 of the Infinity Kappa Perfect VQ subs that aren't being made anymore. I am going to buy the Crown amp next paycheck!

Oh yeah and what kind of cable/cables do I need to run the Crown from my receiver? I do have sub pre out on the receiver.

Make double sure whatever you buy is able to accept RCA inputs, unless you have balanced outs on your receiver (doubtful). A lot of the studio/gigging stuff is balanced input only.

The link you posted above says it has XLR, 1/4 inch and RCA inputs.

I am a little confused... do I run this amp from the sub outs on my receiver since I am powering 2 subs with it? And do I maybe need a Y-splitter to run 2 RCAs to the Crown?

I'm thinking running the subs from the dedicated output is gonna work best for you. Do you have a single out coming from your receiver, or two? If you have apair then just run one to each input on the amp and run you speaker wire hookups to each sub. You'll have a left sub and right sub running from each side of the amp.

This might sound stupid but not sure what you mean by a dedicated output... do you mean the sub out on the pre outs? I have an Acurus 3ch amp running off the L and R and Center pre outs and was thinking I would run the Crown amp off the sub out... I only have one sub out. Do I run RCAs from the sub out to RCAs inputs on the Crown? I want to bridge the Crown @4ohms so I can control both subs off of one gain volume knob.

OK, then you'll have to split the sub output to run both subs if you want to run it from that output.

So RCA to RCA too then?
Yes.... I have a "one into two" RCA splitter so I can run two subs...

my AVR only had one RCA "sub" out. I purchased a 5" long Monster Cable

I plugged into the back of my AVR, it has a larger gauge wires then the

less expensive ones and it matched the cables to my two subs... not sure if this matters but I did it anyway :)

The only thing I am running my sub out to a separate amp not to 2 active subs so I was wondering if the Crown amp worked fine with RCAs or if I need RCAs to XLRs

RCA to RCA will be fine, no need to use the 1/4" or XLR unless you want the "fancy" connector look. ;)
