Battlefield 3

Got this one along with MW3 just after X-mas. Really digging the multiplayer on this one so far. I was never a fan of MW online. I'm just not good at the "run and gun" style of play. I usually end up with a K/D ratio of about 5/10 or so. Plus I HATED how a guy can just run up to you and kill you with 1 swipe of the knife.

With Battlefield I can drive around in a tank, capture flags and repair the tank when it gets damaged and get hella points. I've ended up being #1 on the board of a Conquest match with only killing a few guys. I love it. There are a few maps that suck for me and end up being "run and gun" like Operation Metro, but for the most part I have a good time. I pretty much always play as an engineer or assault. I've got to start trying support and recon. But I've never been a big fan of sniping.

So far I haven't even opened up MW3.

PTOM gave Killzone 3 best shooter of 2011, but BF3 got best Multiplayer.

BF3 is probably the only FPS I have really loved in 2011. I have it for PC, and I have had some of the most fun times getting together for small lans with my friends and playing BF online and having all of us in the same squad...it is a blast.

This game just feels so much smarter than the other shooters for the most part.

About the only thing I don't like about it so far is that almost NO ONE uses a head set. When I played COD about half the people were talking. On Battlefield the most I have seen in a match is 3, including myself.

This sucks because if you're supposed to be acting as a team how can you direct other people if they won't tell you what they're doing?

Probably. Last night I was playing and there were 2 kids that had changed their voices. One was hella high and one was hella deep. They just kept laughing and saying stupid crap all throughout the match. I finally just took my Bluetooth out of my ear. Stupid punks.

I play on PC and I have yet to hear anyone use a Mic in game...actually, I am not even sure that the PC version supports mics.

That's honestly not a problem for PC though, when I play with friends we normally just load up Vent and it's all good.

They might be having server issues with the storms on the East Coast.
