I just ordererd a Sansui 2000 to replace one I tossed out years ago. I bought it on E-bay and mistook it for a Sansui 2000x which was the one I owned. Is there anyone here that might know the difference? They looked the same on the face but I saw the enclosure had a different venting on it.

Thanks

Look at:

http://www.classicsansui.net/Receivers.htm

There you can look at copies of original brochures for both of those receivers.

There are more web sites devoted to vintage equipment; just do an online search for "vintage sansui" (without the quotation marks) for more information.

I used to own a Sansui 2000. It is a very solid unit, and if it is in good condition, I think you will probably agree that it is a nice little receiver. I sold mine because I have way too much equipment, and could use more space than I can use more receivers. As things are, I have three systems set up in my home, and I have 5 receivers I am not currently using (not to mention an extra integrated amplifier).

Sansui 2000: 2X35 watt in 8 ohm with 0.8% distorsion
Sansui 2000x: 2X39 watt in 8 ohm with 0.8% distorsion. This model can also separate Preamp from Amp. I don't know if that is possible with the 2000 mod.
Glad to help, perhaps a little late - I just joined.

Sansui 2000X Receiver

I have a Sansui 2000X receiver with service manual and operating instructions. I bought it in Japan in 1972 when I was in the Navy. It is in excellent condition. I also have a set of Pioneer CS-66 Speakers that I bought at the same time, they look and sound like new (Not used much).

This message doesn't belong here, F/S items have to posted in F/S thread and yes I know you don't have enough posts to post in that thread - there is a reason for that. Read the forum rules which you agreed on then signing on.
