Hello,

I am about to pull the trigger on purchasing my HT gear, I will be purchasing:

Denon Receiver
Verus Grand Towers pair
Verus Grand Center
4x Emotiva ERD-1 Surrounds
Rythmik FV15
Emotiva XPA-1 3 Channel Amp

My plan is to pre-out the XPA-1 to drive the Grand mains and the center and let the receiver handle the surrounds.

Can someone tell me what type of cables I will need for all of this that doesn't come with this gear? I already purchased and received the banana plug wall plates and plugs from Monoprice, but I have not bought anything else.

I would appreciate some help, thanks!

Hi. Congrats on the soon-to-be new gear! Looks like a nice set up.

To connect the receiver to the amp, and to connect the receiver to the subwoofer, you'll want some RCA cables. At Monoprice, I'd choose their "high quality" line like this example here. I bought their lower line and, while they work just fine, had some trouble getting the connectors to stay on. My buddy bought their high quality cables and likes them.

You mentioned buying wall plates. Are you running a lot of cable through your walls? If so, be sure to get cable that is rated for inwall use like this two-conductor wire or this four-conductor wire. Just examples, of course - Monoprice has other lengths.

Thanks for the info.

When I was rebuilding our home after the fire and before drywall was put in, I ran about 1000 feet of this blue flexible plastic conduit all over the house to every room, including the media room for all of the in-wall speaker wire. The wire I used was rated for in-wall installation and was supposed to be a good wire.

AudioQuest FLX-14/4 14-Gauge 4-Conductor In-Wall Speaker Cable (125 feet) UL-approved for in-wall use; direct-burial rated at Crutchfield.com
