Well, there comes a time when you just have to try something for yourself. I gave it years of thought, and took my time choosing products for this little system.

(2) Denon POA-2200 old-school amps. Separate gain controls on each channel.
(1) Yamaha CDC-645 cd player with remote gain control.
(1) Adcom ACE-315 power center.
(2) MB Quart QL-S830.
Custom-made Bluejeans Cables for vertical bi-amp configuration.
No Y adapters.
No pre-amp.

What is absolutely fantastic is the ability to cut the power to the tweets, and boost the power to the mids. The difference in the sound quality over using one 2200 is very noticeable. The treble remains crisp, and never looses detail, or flattens out. The mids take waaaay more power, and NEVER slap when driven hard. You look at the speakers and think, how is it possible for these little speakers to do this?

Few pics. I suck with a camera.

How about some REW analysis for your system's sweet spot?

I believe REW refers to the "Room EQ Wizard" software.

That's it. Here is the link, REW - Room EQ Wizard Home Page
Well, there is no EQ to smooth.

I guess it could just be used to show me what I got, but then, what is that going to do?

What other equipment do I need? I already have a calibration cd that includes;

Phase Test(20Hz-200Hz)
Phase Test(200Hz-2kHz)
Phase Test(2kHz-20kHz)
Phase Test(full-range)
Total Silence
1/3 Octave Uncorrelated Stereo Pink Noise
Sine Wave: 50Hz/0 dBFS
Sine Wave: 200Hz/0 dBFS
Sine Wave: 1kHz/0 dBFS
Sine Wave: 8kHz/0 dBFS

You need a microphone/SPL meter, one that has a calibration file for REW, and computer with an audio input for the mic as well as for audio output to your system, normally a 3.5mm to RCA cable.

REW is just another tool in box and at the very least it'll show you the visual frequency response of how you like your setup to sound. It can be useful for speaker/sub placement, crossover settings, effect of port plugs, etc.

For me REW sits one step above the "built in" room correction many receivers have now. It gives one a visual baseline when tweaking your system for the way you like it to sound but in the end my ears always have the final word.

That's just it though. There is no receiver, pre-pro, pre-amp, eq, bass, or trebble.

It's just a cd player, with two amps.
