I have a Onkyo TX-SR606 and an Acoustech H-100 Cinema Series subwoofer that have been working well for the last few years (never had a problem).
Last week, I moved the receiver to a different shelf and for some reason my subwoofer has stopped working. I didn't change any configuration, but for the life of me, I can't figure out why this has occurred.
The cable run to the subwoofer barely moved. It's a big thick Monster RCA cable. The receiver only physically moved 12 inches. Things I've done:
- Verified the front speakers were not set to full band and the subwoofer was Yes in the Onkyo speaker config
- Verified the subwoofer cable was plugged into pre-out subwoofer jack (and obviously the sub in jack on the subwoofer).
- Disconnected and reseated both subwoofer and receiver cables
- Re-ran Audyssey auto speaker setup. It didn't detect the subwoofer.
I've always left the H100 power switch in the Auto/Standby position. The light is red when off and used to turn green when it detected the signal. I've tried turning it to the on position, but I still get no sound from it.
I get sound from the other 7 speakers (when playing a 7.1 source), but the subwoofer remains muted (likewise, the Audyssey setup produces the tones in each speaker except the sub).
I've looked through the manual of both of the Onkyo and the Acoustech, read every troubleshooting step and searched many forums, to no avail.
Does anyone have any steps they could recommend to a noob like me to track down where the problem is? I feel it's most likely a configuration problem, and not a hardware problem, but I'd like to rule that out too. I'm not sure what else I can do to verify the sub works, and the receiver is outputting the pre-out signal.
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
