Give them a call, Dan. They should match the sale price. After all, you can still return it, right?
I was going to give them a call on monday and see what they say,

"Shipping & Returns
Emotiva offers a 30 day, no questions asked and hassle-free, return policy. Simply call 1-877-EMO-TECH for an RMA number. Once we have received your unit(s), checking to make sure they are intact, we will send you a check or credit you for the full purchase amount. It’s that simple!"

Customer service is the best. Of all the companies I deal with, Emotiva has the best customer service.

Terrible company. Just bought the UMC-1 based on their claims that the software was fixed. Not at all true. They stated the new deliveries had the updates, not so, 6 hours to install and it failed the verification phase. A call to service and they said oh well just leave it, great technical advice. Bought a ERC-2 they claimed was in stock, of course they don't have it and will not for months, but they do have my money I mean what else does the US arm of a Chinese manufacturer have to do other than practice good inventory management, and they can't do that. I knew I was buying cheap knockoff goods, but figured the price was right, you get what you pay for. But not with Emotiva, what you get either doesn't work or you don't get what you paid for at all. Caveat emptor, or more simply run like hell away from Emotiva.

Would you say that if the person had come on here with their first post proclaiming how great Emotiva is? I admit that this post is a bit out of place, though, and fits better in the thread about the UMC-1 where it was deleted (although there is a better discussion about this issue starting here).

After all, if disliking that company is all it takes to make someone a troll, then I guess I should go find a comfy bridge. Nah, I like it here too much. :D

No way Adam, yer ma favorite troll... :D

But seriously, if this type of behavior weren't a common occurence for most thread trolls, I may not have commented. It's not the fact that I disagree with them voicing their displeasure with whatever product/service they mention, it's the manner in which it was done not only here, but the only other post they have here on AH. You've got a track record here Adam that makes it clear you're an experienced, relatively unbiased contributor and your posts or comments are well thought out. I can't say the same for someone that contributed this type of post in a section that you yourself agree is rather out of place.

I know you've had issues with some of your Emo products and the manner in which you've noted them, I think it was handled fairly and rationally, which I don't think you can say regarding this user's only two posts. I certainly don't have a problem with someone voicing their concerns over a company or product, can't sugar coat everything :), but if you are going to be a complete newbie (sorry, but yes, that does play into it) and start bashing said company or product, regardless who or what it is, you're going to draw that kind of response. -TD

That's totally fair, TD, and I hope that I didn't come across as accusatory, as that wasn't my goal. I can understand a newbie popping in and being passionate about either loving a product/company or hating them. After all, there's normally some spark that inspires people to sign up. :) Nothing like being elated or p***ed off to get someone typing. And then there are the contest threads, which got me here. :D On Onyx tube amp. Ahhh, that would have been sweet...

Your avatar cracks me up :D - perfect for the holidays. I hope that you have a great one!

No worries, we cool...

I definitely see your point, I've just seen so many instances of pot stirrers/product bashers and fanbois over the years that when the first interaction I see is so negative and almost personal, I come to the conclusion I did. Is it right or wrong? Maybe both, but either way, thanks for making me more aware of it.

I came here (Audioholics) with a passion to learn more and share my experiences with others. I've learned a lot along the way and hopefully I'll continue to. My hope is others can benefit from what I've learned and shared as well.

Thx again dude, enjoy the holidays yourself! And in case you were wondering, it's true, Bumbles do bounce! :D -TD
