Hi

My amp has 1 sub pre-out ive seen post about using a y splitter to convert for a sub with L/R connection.

What i would like to know can i use a y splitter to connect 2 subs simultaneously without damaging subs or amp ?

Thanks

Definitely! That gets recommended here pretty often, too.

Thanks for the quick response. What is the difference between single line-in & R/L line in on the sub. which is better?

It depends on the sub. A number of subs are set up so that you can use just one of the inputs (which works great when connecting to a receiver with a subwoofer output). That should be mentioned in the owners manuals for your subs. Also, some subs are labelled on the back to say which of the inputs should be used if you only use one.

Yup, Adam's got you covered :)

There's no problem at all with using a Y-splitter to feed two subwoofer with a single "Sub Out" from your receiver.

There's also no problem using just one RCA input on a sub that has R/L inputs.

In both cases, you might get a tiny bit of signal power loss. All you have to do is turn up the sub's volume dial a little bit to compensate IF that is the case :)

No problems and no worries about damage. All you're transmitting through that "subwoofer cable" and the Y-splitter is a low voltage signal. You're not sending any sort of amplifier power - that's built into the sub itself. So there's no problem with splitting the signal to feed two or more subs.

Merry Christmas! :D
