hello I recently picked up a used (but mint) NAD C 315BEE integrated amp. (only cost $80, yeah!). now I am looking for suggestions for two bookshelf speakers that would pair well with this unit. there will be no subwoofer, main purpose will be majority movies and tv with like 20% music mixed in. I just want better audio than built in speakers on plasma tv. the speakers cannot be on stands they must stay on the tv stand and as such must be 6"-7" wide maximum. Also they will be positioned about 2 feet from the back wall so I understand that ported enosures would work better than sealed designs. I have already received suggestions including Polk Monitor 40 or That budget pioneer series designed by that jones guy. budget would be $200 for the pair. Any other suggestions given my constraints? Thanks in advance.

I would get the Pioneer FS51 tower speakers. I doubt the Polks can even hold their jock strap.

All the usual suspects. Also: look for specifically wall-mountable speakers: They often take the rear wall into consideration.

A shade over your budget at $219 but the cambridge s-30s get great reviews. Saturday Audio has refurbished PSB speakers; you can pick up the Alpha B-1s for $240.

Ah bro get some of those killer Bose for sure!!!! :)

Ok serious now...

HSU HB-1 (i think thats the model) some of the cleanest speakers i have EVER heard for the price. They run $150ea, a little over budget but SO worth it IMO!!
