Denon AVR3311/3312 vs Marantz SR6006

Hi Folks
I have narrowed down my search on the obove mentioned receivers. I can get them at prices mentioned below:
Denon AVR3311 - 799 CAD
Denon AVR3312 - 898 CAD
Marantz SR6006 - 999 CAD
I really like the look of Marantz receiver. But for me sound/features are more important than looks. I have checked all marantz dealers locally and none of them have SR6006 on display or hooked up for auditioning. Hence I am asking on this forum if someone has auditioned Denon AVR3311/3312 vs Marantz SR6006 kindly share your experience. If Marantz SR6006 sounds same as either of the above denon receivers than I would be happy to save my $200 and buy 3311.

Subjective opinions base on one's listening experience or hearsays will say the 6006 may sound better. In fact base on features and specs the Denon 3311/12 are closer to that of the upper model SR7005.

I am almost certain in pure direct mode they will sound about the same to most people except for those with golden ears. The 3312 will likely have better feature sets so if you can save $200 go for it unless you cannot forget the better look of the Marantz.

I'm not going to listen to it in pure direct mode tho'. I'll be using it for music in 2.1 mode and for HT in 5.1/7.1 mode.

In 2.1 without sound processing they should still sound about the same. With sound processing depending on the sound mode you select only you can judge because it will be highly subjective. With Audyssey only again they should sound quite close because both use Audyssey MutiEQ XT.

Agree and also both made in China and no doubt the same workers.
