Are ther any MP3 players that use regular batteries?

My high capacity (80 gig) Zune always seems to run out at precisely the wrong time.

I carry my my tiny (2 gig) little Sansa M240, which runs forever off of a AAA battery.

Granted, this may be an apples to oranges (disc to flash drive) comparison, but are there any higher (than 2 gig) portables that run off of replacable batteries?

Hi, Mark. If you can't find one that you really want, you can also consider getting an external battery pack. I looked briefly for one that would sleekly connect up to the Zune and didn't find one, but they might be out there.

I don't know of any. Most Cowon players have a very long battery life in my experience though. My D2 has a 52 hour battery life

Go for a Cowon DAP like the S9, J3 or the D2+ (if you can find a D2+, they are an older model). They are high quality DAP's that have the best battery life among portable players. The J3 and D2+ also have external memory. Sound quality and video quality are excellent. I have tested my D2+ with FLAC files and get somewhere in the 40+hours with the internal battery.

How could you need more than the rechargeables are now? Most places have plugs (nearly all in first or business class), and most planes can't fly longer than the battery life of a new generation iPod without stopping for gas.

My iPod Nano lasts a solid 20 hours, maybe more. MIA to Hong Kong (with a stopover)....nearly a day in the airport or in the air, and no recharge needed.

Now the downside is iTunes is annoying.

Carrying batteries means more 'stuff.' Nano with Shure's and the small USB charger they have now literally fits in one pocket.
