Help finding an AV Receiver that suits me

I have a dilemma, I was given 2 dj speakers that have (2) 15" subwoofers in them. I have been running them as my front speakers and only getting maybe 100watts per channel from my old JVC home theater in a box. I am want to upgrade my av receiver so that i can get the full potential out of the subwoofers. I already have Polk 30 satelites and the Polk CS1 center channel on the way. I am going to split the speakers so that the dj speakers are 2 speakers and 2 subwoofers but I'm in a bind and cant seem to find a receiver to meet my needs without having to by an external amplifier to power them since they get to be pricey. I hope that i have explained my dilemma clearly and hope you guys can point me in the right direction. Any kind of features like dlna, larger variety of audio decoders, mic calibration, etc. I really dont want to spend more than $300 (eBay) since I dont have much money to through around.

Thanks
Gavin

What are the speakers?

You sure the 15" drivers are "subwoofers"?

I really dont know what speakers they are i havent took them out of the box. They are dj speakers like 4' x 2' x 2' with a horn, speaker, and yes a 15" subwoofer. I'm 100% sure they are subs.

Am I Picturing This Correctly?

If I am picturing your speakers correctly in my mind, you have DJ speakers with a horn for the higher frequencies and a 15 inch driver for the lower frequencies in the same box. That is a large full range speaker _ in your case, a horn "tweeter" and a 15 woofer. Subwoofers are generally separate units with their own amplifiers. As far as the receiver is concerned, a powerful receiver is all that may be needed. I have a sneaking suspicion that you will not need any sort of separate subwoofer. That will make set up very easy.

Gavin, do the speakers have 2 sets of binding posts at the back? If it looks like this, further discussion will be moot, unless you plan to open the box and rewire...

No they dont look like that they are Welton USA Pro Studio PS26SH they have junky spring terminals and i plan on changing them out. But I found a picture of the speakers. Hit the link and then on the left scroll down to PS26 and then they full picture will come up.

WELL I CANT POST A LINK UNTIL I HAVE 5 POSTS AND IM AT 2 SO I MIGHT POST SOME BLANK OR USELESS POSTS. BEAR WITH ME.

Like i said i will be splitting the subwoofer and the speaker into 2 separate channels.

So i need the cheapest most efficient way to power these speakers and 2 subwoofers. Thanks for all the help, keep it coming.

Wow those are pretty old school.

Those 15" drivers are not subwoofers, they are just woofers. I have no idea how you intend to "split" the speakers. Do they have bi-amp binding posts? Can't tell from the pics but it doesn't look like it.

yea i got them from my girlfriends parents they were moving and they gave them too me. I couldnt pass them up and they sound really good for how old they are. I might end up replacing them with better stuff but not until i get a receiver. But no they dont have separate terminals. But i have a rigging past that is did me good so far and i will think of something. I will probably just take the speakers out and mount/solder some terminal posts on the backside of the box and then have two separate terminals. So what do you have for me in terms of av receivers so that i can get my eyes looking around.

You are wasting your time. Those speakers will have an F3 around 60 Hz and nowhere near sub range.

Just use them as your main speakers and add a sub when you can afford it.

If you use those drivers as subs, you will get practically no sound at all out of them.

The reason is those speakers have to be efficient to match the horns, and there is an inverse relationship between efficiency and bass extension.

Well i just did a bass sweep test from 20-60hz and they were on MAX volume and they took it like a champ. But i would like it if someone would help me finding a receiver that suits my needs and i dont know if they are woofers or subwoofers but they get my low freqs very well for old free speakers.
