Saw a burned-out wreck of a motorcycle on the street on my way home just last night.

Kinda reminds me of that joke, "They say most accidents happen within a mile of your house, so I moved."

I was about 650ft from my house the last time I got rear ended (badly). I was driving somebody else's car too, since I totaled mine six days prior in another accident (also not my fault).

The woman was super drunk and gave me incorrect info and left her damn bumper and license plate in the street. Of course it happened when I forgot my phone at the house and had no way to call the cops or take pictures. In the end, the damage was taken care of by her insurance company, but I couldn't do anything about her being a drunk driver since the cops weren't on scene to verify.

They are certainly to be commended for their actions. However, I find it odd that they pulled him out and just left him in the street beside the car until the paramedics showed up. At least, that's how it appears.

Same here. Less than a block and a half from house. I was driving an F250 crew cab, long bed. Almost 20' long and my tire is as tall as his hood. We're both stopped at the stop sign. I'm in the right turn lane, he's in the left. I'm am also about 10' ahead of him. He decides to make a right turn too, into the side of my truck. I asked him "how on earth did you not see my truck?" He just shrugged. IPhoned about 20 pics before he moved his car and emailed them to the insurance co.

Oh, and used to ride street, and have lots of friends that ride, always WITH helmets. Now I only ride dirt with full gear head to toe. No helmet is Russian roulette.

Perhaps dragging him further away would have reduced the risk, but I believe that we're instructed to leave accident victims alone unless there is an imminent danger. That's because moving them could aggravate an injury, causing paralysis or other. Also, you can see that there is a police officer on the scene, and he may have instructed the others to move away.

I hope that I'd act like the majority of them and not like the dude in the suit. For all I know, though, he wanted to help but knew that he physically couldn't do it.

Yes, you avoid moving them, unless there is imminent danger. However, in all circumstances, you should check for breathing, at a minimum. And, if there is none, for a pulse. Then take the necessary follow-up action, i.e. CPR. I just thought it a bit odd that they would take such a risk to get him out and then not check him over. Or, steal his wallet...
