More speakers or Amp?

Trying to decide where to put my budget. We are currently looking to get new Paradigm Studio 100's. We have the HK 2700 receiver. Would my best bet be to get the LR and a new amplifier, or get the LR & C and stick with the HK alone for amplification?

We do movies/music about 50/50

Thanks!
Chris

To try and answer your questions, I looked for HK 2700 receiver and found nothing.
Did you mean the 7200 AVR?

If you go with the front pair and a new amp, what would you be using for a center channel - or would you go without one? I'm asking because I'm wondering if it would match with the 100's.

Perhaps you could get the 100's and see how you like them with the HK. The HK doesn't have a huge power rating, but the 100's are pretty efficient speakers and shouldn't require a lot.

The 100's have an impedance dip in the bass range that begs for an external amp.
I had a thread about the 100's -vs- TLS a ways back.

Only one problem.. HK 2600 doesn't have pre-outs other than one for sub...
OP needs to go separates or new AVR + amp to get the most out of 100's
