For outputs from the PVR am I able to use both an HDMI output for the TV and an Analog output for the Mutlizone?
I am not sure how to link up the analog outputs so that the receiver tags the PVR to output to zone !
So if I say use Analog 2 In/OUT how do I get the analog signal from the PVR to be recognized and sent to the Zone 2 so that it will be picked up and heard.
You don't need to use any analog
output. Each device that is connected to the receiver must be connected to an analog
input on the receiver. Analog outputs on receivers are for sending analog out to something else, like a tape recorder, and they only output analog audio that arrived via an analog input - it will not convert digital to analog and sent the analog audio out the analog audio out.
As for the PVR, most likely, yes you can have both HDMI and analog outputs connected at the same time and both are active at the same time (meaning it ouputs a digital signal over HDMI and an analog signal at the same time).
If you have a DVD player connected to an HDMI input and assigned to the 'dvd' input selector, then also connect analog audio cables to the analog inputs in the sectioned labeled DVD. Same for any other devices.
You select which source device to output to zone 2 using whatever means that recevier provides - typically press a button marked 'zone 2' and then select the source. You'll have to see the manual for the exact procedure for your particular receiver.
