Man!!!

I just bought an A2000.

I can't really see a difference in the A2010.

What does it have better you think?

2010 has 10 more watts output and weights 2.5 lbs more. Looks about the same otherwise.

I almost purchased a new A2000 but got a smoking deal on a used/new (still in wattanty) RX-V1900 130X7 HD does not go online but I don't need that feature. No HDMI issues, looked on Yamaha web site no firmware upgrades.
I wanted the A2000 but money is tight now. My Revox R2R is being restored.:(
So far I have not seen a bad post about the A2000.

I'll be looking for a deal on an A2000 now that the new models have come out. I do wonder though where the extra weight on the A##10 models comes into play ... would be nice if they beefed up the power supply for better ACD performance though it's not really required.

The other power ratings don't seem to have changed so I wonder if its just a marketing specs boost with no real internal changes. I believe the previous A2000/A3000 models over performed their rated 2 channel specs anyways so the increase wouldn't be bogus, just more accurate.

As far as the A3010 is concerned the following major changes are incorporated:

1) Two extra amps so 9.2 capability without an extra amp separate. With the A3000 you can only add 7.2 speakers without adding an extra separate amp. So unless you have room for more speakers its probably not worth the extra capability.
2) 10 watts extra per channel
3) Improved front USB port functionality

From the looks of things from their website they had to spend money on erasing the second 0 from RX-A2000 to reprint a 1 in its place.
Its such a great reciever line there really wasnt anywhere to improve exept the compatability with "i" products. I sure am glad i didnt have to spend anywhere near the new $1599 MSRP. If i were looking for a new AVR right now i would capitalize on the A2000 price drop instead of the A2010 price hike. Id rather spend the $100 on the wireless dock so i could stream music from my iphone wirelessly instead of plugging it into the front USB port. Plus 10 watts more is meaningless.

I created a "deals" thread, but I'll make a note here, too.

Per dealnews.com, newegg has the RX-A2000 for $900 after using coupon code "EMCYTZT602". The coupon expires on July 17.

I don't know how good of a deal that is, but it's the cheapest that I saw.

$900 is a good deal but I'm on the otherside of the border which usually means duty plus additional shipping and potential warranty issues.

Thanks for posting that though,
Steve
