I'm sure most computer geeks have run into this particularly nasty and amazing malware. I'm stunned at just how well made it is. Some guy with a deep understanding of windows has made the nastiest malware I've seen.

I had dealt with this last year in October and now my wife's computer has it. It's even nastier than before, but for those who are having trouble with it. I thought you'd like to know how to attack it before it really digs in.

http://forum.kaspersky.com/index.php?showtopic=212719 This is the link to the very latest version of TDSSKiller and you will need it before you should even attempt opening your browser for any reason. If you suspect you might have malware of any kind get this and run it in safe mode. TDSS is very nasty and you will need the very latest version at all times. The thread linked above has it.

After that runs successfully be sure to run malware bytes and super spyware along with an antivirus. rkill is another great tool to always have on you. I suggest keeping tdss and rkill on your flash drive. Even at my level of expertise I use tools to remove malware because you should never try to manually remove it on a home machine.

It was picked up via the Windows Vista Fix issue.

Alternatively, you could stop visiting those former Eastern block "entertainment" websites.

Huh. That sounded like a good idea in my head, but after typing it out...

Yeah I asked her what she was doing on it. I suspect she got it through email maybe. If it was from "entertainment" sites I'd rather not know.;)

I can never find mine when I really need it lol. Kinda like having a tire go flat when I've loaned out my air pump.
