Blu-ray vs Seperate CD player?

I would like to know if I have a Harman Kardon BDP-1 Blu-Ray Player would I get better sound quality on of using the Harman Kardon CD player HD990? Would I notice a difference having a dedicated CD Player?

I've come across this issue a couple of times and there was no real difference that I could hear. The only issue [if it is one to anybody] is that the dedicated CD player tends to start faster since it is dealing with one format only.

That and the feature set tends to be better for CD playback with a dedicated CD player. I like having a CD player for that reason. If one does not already have a CD player, if one wants one, one can typically get one in a thrift store for $25-35, though usually without a remote. Plus, I like having a carousel changer, so that I can put in several discs at once, which I have never seen for BD players.

If you are using the digital output of each player into the same dac you are using the player as a transport and the difference may not be noticeable depending on the resolution of the rest of your system. But if you are comparing the analogue output of each player the cdp should handily win the comparison. Of course this will also be dependent on the caliber of the rest of your system.

That is pretty much what I figured. I really want one player that 'does it all' instead of dealing with separate players.
