I just bought a pair of these this week as well as the BU-2 sub, two rears, and a center channel. I have hook these up and the center channel and sub sound great. But the tower speakers just sound horrible. I first hooked them up to my 7 year old Yamaha receiver and they sounded pretty decent. I just hooked them up to a brand new Sony receiver (Model: STR-DN1010) and they sound weak and have no highs at all. When the receiver is on 2 channel, they are bad. In concert with the whole setup, the setup sounds decent but I think that's because the center channel is awesome.

Any thoughts on what the problem could be? Since they didn't sound bad with the yamaha, I'm thinking there is a tweak that I need to do with the Sony. I just haven't figured it out yet.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Wow, im pretty certain this guy is mentally retarded!
2ohm? seriously?! Youre in the wrong forums man. Find a "mobile audio for the cognatively challenged" board

the kappa 7.1s are rated 8ohms, so dont worry about that part. These speakers, when operating properly sound exceptionally good. They do have tone controls on the back, check those.
go through your recievers options and make sure it is setup properly...beyond that, you might have some busted speakers

Edit - I cant recall, but these speakers may have dual binding posts and require jumpers as well
