Hi guys, I am having a problem with my Denon 3311ci. I have 3 components connected via hdmi, but when the denon attempts to switch from one component to another, the display shows the input has changed but the display just shows the denon logo (like there is no video signal). I have to turn the Denon receiver off then on again in order for the video to display. Does anyone have any ideas on how to remedy this problem. So far I have changed out the hdmi cables and still having the same problem. Thanks in advance.

I also own a 3311 and have never experienced any issues like this at all.

My first thought is HDMI handshaking. I'm thinking that when you switch devices the HDMI handshake isn't taking place properly or the hardware isn't getting the proper responses and doesn't think there is a signal on the wire.

You say you switched cables; from what to what? If the issue is a cable issue and you're using the same type of cable between all components, try buying something completely different that has the HDMI logo on it to ensure it can perform the HDMI handshake.

Other than that... I leave it to the better experts than me.

This is probably and HDCP code problem.

What units are you connecting and are they HDCP certified? If you have quality cables and all units are HDCP certified, then your Denon is defective.

Try a firmware upgrade if one is available.

I have the same exact problem. Everytime my daughter uses the DVD player, I have to turn on and off at the power source to go back to TV. This unit sucks and DENON won't support it. I also have AIRPlay and used to stream Pandora from the IPHONE and now it won't even show up at all. FRUSTRATING.

Video Baluns

I am having issues with Snap Av binary HDMI extenders and denon avr 2113 & avr 1513. X-box switches thru 1513 and great picture. When I hook up Direct TV Gini DVR, DVR hangs up and has
picture without full color.
I will try a $200. Key digital balun and turn all auto's off.
Maybe I should not sell AVR's below $1000.? This is frustrating!!! I think last years denon worked better.
Any other solutions?
I have learned not to use the EZ cat 5 RJ45's and went back to old style. also using cat 6 for longer runs.
AVR 2113 balun went out completely after direct TV guy was there adding receivers.
Any power up sequence with gear? :(
