I noticed yesterday that I have a small band rolling up my screen. It's faint, but it's there. There will be two on the screen at any given time rolling fairly quickly from the bottom up.

I know with tubes you used to see this... but never thought this would be an issue with a new tv. I think the tv is about 3 years old. Could it be just a symptom of the bulb or is something more serious.

I've got a 65" Mits DLP. I'm gonna be pissed if the set is on its last legs.

On a side note, I did get a chance to play with that new 70" LED Aquos. VERY nice! It will likely be under the tree this Xmas. I've been waiting for the larger flat panels to come out at somewhat reasonable prices. On the surface... it looks like a homerun.

Was told this could be a ground loop issue. That's doesn't make sense to happen all of sudden. Anyone?

The first thing I would do is try to isolate the piece of gear that's causing it. Just from the stuff I've read on here I think you should disconnect your cable/satellite/antenna feed. If the band goes away look to see if the feed itself is properly grounded. Volumes have been written on that topic by TLS, highfigh and Rickster71 IIRC.

Thanx Alex. Last night I was going to pop in a blu-ray and disconnect the cable, but I didn't get home from the office until late. I'll give it a shot tonight.

My concern is that it just started happening. I tell you what... if the tv is toast... I'll fly with it over to Japan and chuck it through their lobby window.

Well after finally getting to screw with this... it definately appears to be the cable signal. the problem seemed to disappear, but last night I noticed the two ghosted bars rolling up the screen again. My daughter had her old game cube hooked up so I just flipped inputs. No issues. Flipped back, bars.

I'm hoping they don't give me the runaround when I call. How cool would it be to get someone with a brain that says, "Yes... I understand your problem. We have exprienced that before and we'll out to fix it."
