Hi every one.
I have two questions.I own a Yamaha RX-Z9and it gets rather hot. I want to buy a Bryston 3B SST2 and use the receiver as the pre amp--but only for two channel music. Would I be able to do that? In the manual on page 27 it says that signals will only be output from the Front Out jacks if speakers B is set to zone B and speakers A is turn off. But if I do this it mutes all the other speakers, according to page 84 of the manual. Does anybody know if it is possible? I want to use the Bryston for the two channel and Yamaha and Bryston for multi channel music and movies. Also right know I am using Polk Lsi 15 4ohms/250 watts with Yamaha. The receiver has only two impendence settings 6 and 8ohms. Should I set it to 6 ohms or leave it at 8ohms? Thanks to everyone that may decide to reply.

Leave it on the 4 ohm setting.

You use the front left and right pre outs to add a the Bryston. The A & B switch should have nothing to do with it.
