Hey i just recently came into possession of a telefunken bajazzo de luxe shortwave radio with speaker. The system works great but it did not come with the power supply. I have been able to use it by replacing the C batteries but drains power like crazy. Where would be a good place to find a replacement power supply either original or modern equivalent? Thanks for helping this noob out

Not much to go on here.

What sort of socket is there for the power supply. We need a picture. Do you know the voltage the power supply is supposed to output and if it is a typical DC connector, do you know if it is tip positive or negative?

Without this info, we can not source an equivalent replacement or build you one.

TLS guy, is that your system linked at the bottom, that is ridiculous. Why do you need all that vintage stuff ? Or is it just there for show?;)

Yes, it is my system. All except the three Revox A 77 reel to reel recorders I have had since new. The Brenell MK 6 and Revox A 700 I purchased new.

Those vintage turntables are still a very good bet.

I have all my LPs from before the digital CD era.

I used to make a lot of live recordings mainly for ND public radio and I have a lot of tape masters.

I have a wide assortment of noise reduction units available, dbx 2 for tape and disc, dbx 1 professional, Dolby A, Dolby B for cassette and reel to reel and all of the cassette codec, Dolby B & C and dbx2.

This section really interests visitors here, as there are some rare pieces, like the DECCA super arm with Decca ffss LP and 78 heads on Garrard 301. Even though that rig is from 40 years ago, the 301 older, it shows just how good SQ was back then.

Enjoy the pictures.

The radio uses a 7.5 volt adaptor. You can find a universal power supply with all the adapters at Radio Shack.
Though it's as TLS Guy has mentioned you need to know the current draw and the +/- configuration of the tip.
That's usually marked right near the socket.

you are right it does say 7.5 v right next to the power socket. I have found which is the right connector i just have one more quick question. If I do not know the proper current draw for the radio and I buy a power supply that is rated for a higher current will it harm either the power supply or the radio? Thanks again guys i really appreciate the help.
