HELP!! I was trying to program my uverse remote for use on my AVR75 & after entering a few codes, found one that turned it off & it won't turn back on! Now it's stuck on standby & my hubby is about to have a meltdown. I unplugged it for a half hour but when I plugged it back in, it's still in standby... HELP! any ideas...??

PS: Bear in mind I am a techno dummy, please explain like I'm 4. Thnx!

I have no idea what brand you are talking about, so I can't download a manual.

However you will need to do a total reset back to factory defaults and start your set up again. Those instructions will be in your manual.

Okay, can I do that (reset to factory settings) without the original remote? Also, can I do that when it won't turn on?
I can download the manual & I have ordered the original remote but I won't receive it for prob a week.
THANKS! for answering!

You don't need a remote to do the reset. What is your receiver?

It is a Harman Kardon AVR75
Page 34 of your manual.

To clear the entire system memory of the
unit, press and hold the MEMO 15 and
CLEAR 16 buttons until CLEAR MEMO
appears in the front panel display.
Release the buttons and note that the
unit will turn off and then on.
Remember that once you have cleared
the memory in this fashion it will be
necessary to re-establish all system
configuration information and tuner
presets.
If the system is still operating incorrectly,
there may have been an electrostatic
discharge or severe AC line interference
that has corrupted the memory or
microprocessor.
If a reset does not solve the problem,
consult an authorized Harman Kardon
service depot.

The memo 15 and clear 16 buttons are on the front panel and not the remote.

Follow that procedure. If it does not work, it will mean you accidentally erased the BIOS from the processor board.

You will then have to ask H K if a service department can reflash it. On a unit that old the answer may well be no.
