My center channel (denon 4311 ci)(klipsch 62) works with music and movies set to the multi channel setting but when i watch movies if its set to standard, as in uses the blu rays' source say dts master, or even dvd's 5.1 we cannot hear the voice tracks- out of the center channel iit is too low, all other channels are crystal clear. If we set it too multi channel and loose the 5.1 the center is loud again. I have tried all kinds of thinks but it doesnt work. Has anyone else had/solved this problem?

Thanks.

I'm going to call denon and if i get a fix ill update the post.

Not much to go on here, but it sounds as if you have not set up your speakers levels properly in the set up procedures.

yes sorry about the lack of info, i have klipsch 82 II fronts, and 62 II rears.
my channel lvl's are + 12 for the center -5 for the fronts and -7 for the rears, now i can actully hear the dialog/center channel in the movies.
maybe i shouls have gotten the 64 II for the center.
those seem extreem setting to me and there are only for movies, if i play games they are fine except for the cut scenes, and cable is ok too.

What kind of blu-ray player do you have and how is it connected?

Yes, those are extreme settings and something is wrong. Did you do manual set up or Audyssey?

I would do a factory reset back to default settings. Get and spl meter and set all speakers to zero db and measure the spl of the test tones from each speaker and report back.

If the output from the center channel was way low, there is a fault with your receiver or the center speaker, probably your receiver as the center seems to work in multichannel stereo mode, which is not what you want to use at all.

ps3 slim, hdmi, amp pre out from the denon to a emotiva xpa 5, these setting are after i reset the denon, no audyssey, but i had the same problem before with audyssey. In the channel lvl's screen at the same lvl the center sounds lower still. ps3 is set to send out whatever the source is but it does it with the xbox 360 also, whitch is set up the same.

Do what I told you. Do a reset to factory default and get the measurements. The we will know if your Denon has to go for service.

will do, it will be most likely tomorrow before i get the results. I have to go buy a spl. I hope its not my denon, I'd rather it be the center lol, my setup is screwed without a reciever.

ok mesurments are fronts and rears all at 90 to 91 , center is at 80. Used test tones, they are at zero, to get center to 90 i had to do a +11 on the bar for the tone. Im using a radioshack spl but its the best i can get my hands on. Should I connect another speaker to that channel to see if its low, and see if the center acts right on a diffrent channel? How would I go about seeing if its the denon or center, thats what I guess i need to do now.

I switched the inpunt to my amp, front right for center, left the speaker connections the same, and the front right droped in volume and the center raised. Maybe its a amp issue.

Sounds as if you have nailed the problem. Your Denon needs service. There is a problem on the center channel.

Ok thanks, and just to make sure I understand right- my denon is using pre amp, no power comming from it, its just passing the signal to my external amp.- and the problem is most likely from the denon.

Thanks again and have a good holiday.
