I have just recently put an old CD player (Alpine CDA-9851) into my 1998 Toyota Avalon, because I am hooking up a few subwoofers (three 10'' in a sealed box with a 1000w Sony Explode amp) up in the trunk. They were working perfectly, until one day they just stopped playing and instead of bass, a very light thud would go every few seconds. The subs are not blown, and neither is the amp, and all of my other wires like power, ground, speaker, RCA's, remote, etc. are hooked up correctly, and there are no fuses blown. The only thing I can think of being the problem is the wire harness, but I have more than triple checked them, even re-wired them, and they are still not playing. But, for some reason, when I would fiddle around with the wires in the wire harness behind the CD player, the subs would play for a split second and then stop. I've looked over all of the wires and still can't figure it out. Any idea what the problem could be? Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like you have found the source of your problem, Change out your RCA cables and wiring harness to see if that is the problems. If that isn't the issue then your problem could be inside the Alpine. Make sure you connections between the wires are solid, using the proper splicing methods (No electrical tape). You would be surprised at how often its something small like that.
