LOL,

I thought the only thing Prince William was missing with his getup was the clown makeup and some big floppy shoes...

Don't even ask me why I know this, but... I believe those are Fergie's daughters. They're fame whores like their mother. Looks to me like they're just trying to get some press coverage.

IDK about that Chris, I don't think they are anywhere nearly masculine enough to be cut from that particular hide....

Dressed so to not detract from the bride and groom, Prince Charles arrived with his wife Camilla who somehow lost her hat.

Yes, they are Fergie's daughter's. So what can you expect!

However, William, Kate and Prince Charles have excellent taste.

They selected just the right music for the occasion and quite rightly side lined the Master of the Queen's Music, Sir Peter Maxwell Davies. Instead they hired Paul Mealor, who wrote a beautiful setting of Urbi Caritas, that ended with a lovely solo for boy treble.

The processional was Sir Hubert Parry's "I was Glad". That was a wonderful choice.

John Rutter had a new work commissioned by Westminster Abbey.

There was a good community sing of Hubert Parry's Jerusalem.

For the private signing of the register, was Hubert Parry's wonderful "Blest Pair of Siren's. Unfortunately Matt Lauer had gabbed all over it.

A dramatic recessional was chosen: - Sir William Walton's Orb and Sceptre.

So I thought the choice of music was inspired and classy, especially the lack of sappy "pop" singers.

Even sadder for me since I believe I heard they did the hats to gain attention as protest that their mother, Fergie, was not invited to the wedding. I'm all for subtle digs, but those were some seriously ugly hats! If I was a suiter, and I'm NOT, I would seriously question their sense of style or lack of. Yikes!

They weren't the only ones with ridiculous "fascinators" as they are called.....:(

Fascinators were in evidence at our niece's, Katherine's wedding to John four years ago, like this one. That was the first I saw of them.

It was a happy occasion in the Malvern Hills of Herefordshire.

However we had traditional West Country English weather.

The groom John was a contemporary of Prince William at Eaton College at Windsor.

A very close friend of his is dating Pippa the sister of the now Duchess of Cambridge.

<sigh> My wife and I both took Friday off. We got up early... and thought we'd just lounge out my the pool and have breakfast and so on and so forth.

Of course she had to have the wedding on. I walked by a couple of times, doing stuff... and happened to see the chick's sister... the one with weird name that escapes me at the moment. So I sorda sat there for a second just to check her out.. but I have to admit.. I did sorda get caught up in the spectacle. Everything was just so high end and elegant, it was kind of hard not to have an appreciation for it all. The church was just amazing to see and I just sat there and watched like a girl for about 40 minutes.

I'll fess up, too. I thought I was all cynical. I had forgotten it was even going on - I had a case of the worst stomach flu you can imagine last week, and I was pretty out of it. I was up, only because my sleep was out of whack. I flipped it on, and watched an awful lot of it, with breaks. I thought it was actually pretty amazing to watch.

I didn't cry or anything, OK? And I may have been delusional from fever and dehydration.

No tears for me either. I mean if you think the entire thing is just overblown theatrics, solely for... well.. the case of overblown theatrics, you have to at least have an appreciation for the finery. The archictecture alone was worth seeing. But I'll also admit it's cool to see everyone in their military uniforms as well. It shows pride just like when you see a navy ship come in with all the seaman on the deck in formation. It's kinda a cool site.

Okay... so now that I totally showed my a$$, I'm gonna leave this thread and never look at it again. I might even stay off the internet for a few days.

I got stuck overnight in Minneapolis with my family since Delta can't maintain their aircraft. So the next morning it was on all over the airport. Then when we got home, the wife had it on. I admit, I watched what was on. She had the remote control. :( I thought Kate's sister Pipa looked HOT! Yowsa! Yes, I can be pig. But it kept me watching.
