Since this is a topic on cables, I have my own question. I own an Onkyo DV-SP1000 player that I use to play my CD's and SACD's. I currently use the optical digital out to hook up to my receiver.

Would I gain anything if I use the seven channel anolog to hook up to my AVR? It has Wolfson 192 kHz/24-Bit DACs, now is this only when using analog, or when you use digital as well?
The DACs in the receiver are only used when you feed it a digital signal. The analog outs are precisely that, an analog signal. Without talking about anything I do or don't know about, I'd simply give both a shot. I could perhaps speculate either way, but I'd experiment and I won't give the reasons why right now.

The one thing the digital connections has over the analog connections is bass mgmt, typically.

Guess I'll be buying two sets of multi-channel connections than.

Well, bad news for me. The split end of the pre-made y-cable ends were not long enough to reach the inputs on each side of my amps.

Called BJC right-up, and they directed me to the page for a custom made y-cable.

Talk about service. Two new custom-made cables on the way.

Custom-made. In-house. Just for me.
