Until Mazda comes out with a new model, the current 3 was designed under Fords umbrella.

The 3(323/Protege) and Ford Escort are the same vehicle.;)

EDIT:Certain years interchange.
Never knew that. I guess that makes me feel a little better.

Honda Accord is, and has always been, built in America.

The American version is exported from here to be sold in other countries. Even Japan.

The European version is sold in America as an Acura TSX.

IMO, The Honda Accord is the best mid-sized American made car.

Why this matters to the conversation.

One must research what they are throwing their money at.

One thing to note, a Volvo S40 would be the top model of the car you are shopping. Volvo also comes with 5 years free maintenance, and a very extensive warranty.

Might want to check one out.

Love the XPA-5 and so do my speakers. I use the UPA-2 for my patio speakers and that works great also. If you don't have a dedicated room with thousands in treatments then there is no reason to spend more on amps as you have bigger problems with your setup.

I'm all for spending wisely and that is why I can't buy american cars. The last two I bought were returned under the lemon law and though I forced myself to get the second one for patriotic reasons all it did was give me big headaches. If the same thing happened with my Emotiva gear I would avoid it as well but it hasn't.

We all have buying experiences that impact how we spend our money. The difference is when I'm on a auto enthusiast forum I don't go bashing Chevys because I never owned one. What purpose would that serve other then to stroke my ego so I would feel superior to others.

My mother told me if you don't have something nice to say then don't say anything. If someone posts something like "Has anyone had any problems with Emotive" then it would be appropriate for people that had a bad experience to give that feedback. For people to leave unsolicited feedback on something they have no experience with is pathetic. It is obvious they have major mental issues and we should give them some slack because you don't make fun of retards because they can't help it. Seeing how bitter and angry some people are makes me feel sorry for them, maybe they just haven't had a hug in a few years.

This is for you. :p

Actually, I am not bitter at all.

I am trying to be helpful.

I am glad all of you that decided to join the conversation enjoy your Emo.

I am just pointing-out some facts all of you don't seem to know.

I will research a hair drier before I buy it.

I am a research freak.

My statements have 0 to do with buying an American made product. Just posting facts that I know.

I have researched products for so many years, I have an extensive list of things I know.

The information has been posted. It's up to you to connect the dots. One simple Google search should paint the picture for you.

I can't explain it any better than I have without getting banned. Probably will anyway.

Damn this hobby and my neverending desire to tweak things lol. I can't really gather any more info. I'll just have to make a decision. I found a used Anthem mca50 for a couple hundred more than an xpa5. So I'm going to have to decide between trading up from my xpa3 to the xpa5 or getting the anthem. I'm happy with the xpa3 but don't want to miss out on the Anthem if that's the better of the two. Guess in a lot of ways "better" is subjective in this hobby. Decisions, decisions lol.

Looks as though you have the right idea.

I am reading your post in the form that I wish others would read mine.

I think you get it.

The hunt is half the fun. Once home they're all about the same after you reach a certain level. I think that's why a lot of people upgrade. Girls aren't the only ones that like to shop. :D We get frustrated when it takes them an hour to pick out a dress but we'll spend countless days researching this stuff.

If my opinions seem 1 sided it is because I won't comment on products based on what I've read because people post false stuff all the time and it is not necessarily representative of the whole and that's just food for the trolls. That said I do like how Consumer reports does their testing. My opinions are all based on real world experiences as I don't live in cyberspace.

Good luck with your choice, I don't think you can go wrong as long as the used one works or is still in warranty. My understanding is amps don't degrade, they either work or they don't but I could be wrong there.

Looks like I'm gonna just pick up a used Anthem MCA50 at a great price and do a side by side comparison. Then I'll just keep the one I like the best. If I don't hear a difference, as many suggest, then I'll just base it off asthetics or something else since performance would be equal.

If you decide to sell the Anthem, which I doubt you will, please contact me. I would love to replace my Adcom 7605 with that unit.

I am not in the position to purchase such an item at the moment, but may be at a later date.

You see how this resale value works. You have someone that wants an amp you don't even possess yet. And, I am not kidding. Very interested in such an item for future upgrade.

Zumbo,

No problem I will keep you in mind should I decide to sell. I wasn't really in the position to get something that expensive but I happened to get really lucky. I found one in great condition for $1100. Couldn't pass it up.

I know what you mean. I just found an Onkyo PA-MC5500 for $900 shipped.
