Now this is tempting! Especially if I see it drop on the weekend. I may have to go this route. Thanks for the heads up.

How does this unit compare to the 4311? How does it compare to the 5008? Thank you, the info may matter to me if I ever updated my pre/pro in the near future (though extremely unlikely).

As far as the Denon I am not sure. The only difference that I really see between the 3008 and the 5008 is 5 extra watts per channel (talk about more power! lol) and the 5008 is stated as having "the finest burr brown dacs" compared to burr brown x6 in the 3008. Although to be honest I have absolutely no idea what that means. There doesn't really seem to be any big difference but I could be missing something. Both use the Audyssey xt32.
