hey everyone, hope this is in the right area, if not please move it!

i have a pioneer receiver, that worked great for just over a year

saturday night my gf had her friends over and when i tried turning it on sunday morning...nothing

i drilled her hard as to what she did to it, and all she said was that "they had it really loud" also, she said that she had turned it off when they were done with it and that it didnt shut off by itself

i pulled out the fuse, checked it with a multimeter, and its fine

i pulled out all the speaker wires but still wont power up

tried different outlets with ones i know work

any suggestions?

thanks in advance!

Look inside for evidence of liquid. If it was water, you may see a faint line around the spill where it evaporated and if it had sugar in it (this included booze), you'll see a stain that may be shinier than the circuit board.

She fried it, by playing it too loud. There is likely at least one set of power transistors burned out and shorting to ground, or a power supply failure.

The unit now needs service.
