I think that it will not significantly affect the market for expensive wires. After all, it was never about reality.

Only thing I'm not certain about, he mentions the uselessness of gold plating on HDMI.

I have some gear that had been plugged in for ~ 2 yrs. When I moved it, you could see corrosion of the gold plated end. So although gold may not do anything to the signal on the HDMI, I would think that it would help protect against corrosion for long term use....thoughts??

Was that really corrosion or the very thin gold plating being pulled off after being installed and pulled out? The plating is very thin, microns in most cases.

yeah. and gold does not corrode in any way.

I find it bothersome that Microsoft is forcing a gamma increase on devs. This explains, at least in part, why so many side-by-sides favor the xbox's more "vibrant colors" or the "washed out" look of the ps3.

Only thing that Monster does well is marketing and taking your money!
