Sons of Guns (TV 2011)

I like Sons of Guns a lot more than Pawn Stars, though Pawn Stars is fun too. I like it because they are very down to earth, normal people. Kind of like how American Chopper was when they started, long before they had all that money and fame and turned into a bunch of d***** bags.

If you like this show, you should also check out Top Shot.

I saw first ep of Top Shot and got properly disgusted by "Survivor" like douchebaggery ... I can't stand that type "reality" TV

Amen for Chopper - RIP; Then they all were together it was fun and real, not it's nothing but money fights.
Now they all look bad; I stopped watching a while ago..

I detest Survivor, and even though Top Shot follows the formula, at least they show some fun weapons, great challenges, and some good shooters. A buddy of mine is a former nationally ranked shooter and has shot with some of those people. The host is annoying though.

I like Sons of Guns and Pawn Stars. They are refreshing changes from the logging, mining, and fishing shows that have been populating the history and discovery channels. Top Shot is pretty nice too, although I am put off by the petty arguments they seem to have for the sake of TV.

I'm kind of confused why the one guy on Sons of Guns who tried to build the sword and the sawed off shotgun is still working there at the shop. It seems he can't do anything right lol.

And his idea in the first place to have them start building swords??? They're a gun shop, why would they make and sell swords? You don't see BMW making horse saddles (although saddles would be more useful, because people still ride horses).

If you watched the beginning of that episode they said that this guy was basically always in the shop just hanging around, so Wil said he might as well just hire him. Apparently he has some use for them, but manufacturing isn't it.

If you're referring to Chris, I think he's the owner's step-son/girlfriends' son. He mentioned that last night. The kid seems to be OK, just didn't ask questions about painting carbon fiber. He got nailed for it and walked off, commenting that he didn't get any instruction on it before being sent to spray the guns, but was blamed for it anyway.

Kris isn't the one who was making the stupid "machete-sword" hybrid. That was Charlie, who is apparently a forensic firearms specialist. He is obviously not good with tools though... Nor does he know anything about knives/swords. Samurai often carried a long and a short sword; the short sword for exactly what he was saying "has never been done before" In other words, it WAS done - in feudal Japan hundreds of years ago. It is called a Kodachi.

Kris is actually pretty funny. He is an apprentice, so he is still learning, but he is the kind of guy I would hang out with LOL.

Yea, I was pretty sure that it had been done before. They need to do their research :p

And they're pretty dramatic sometimes. Like when the main guy (dont remember his name) shot the tommy gun and it kept shooting, he was like "ANYONE WHO SHOOTS THIS WILL BE KILLED BY IT" when he clearly was ok lol.

yes, dramma was there, but I'd sh!# my pants if my gun will keep firing while the trigger was already released ... I remember Israeli's Uzi has this "feature"'

Yea, I would've been scared, but its to be expected that something could go wrong when you're taking a replica and turning it into a fully automatic gun.
